San Pedro

Well I am glad that everyone remembered to write me.....Just a joke! But things are going very well here. I am in my new are with my new companion. My new area is called San Pedro. My new companion is from Arizona and named Elder Whiting. I feel really weird being outside the office. No one has called me with questions and I don't have to worry about anything other than my companion and our area and baptizing! So it's actually pretty nice...

I know that dad said that I need to write better letters now...but this is really so hard for me. I seriously cant think of anything right now. I am just happy that I still have a few weeks to work here in Guatemala and become a better person. I'm still just trying to learn the area because I have only been here for 24 hours. But it should be really fun.

And just so everyone knows, I am writing again normally on Tuesdays. I love you all. If you want me to write better letters. I need you to ask me some questions!

Love you all,
Elder Wilkes

Three Months Left

Well I can hardly believe that I only have 3 months left from today....I am not going to lie it is kind of hard to be in the office at this point because they have already purchased my ticket and stuff...but things are still great!!

This week we have our zone conferences..today we had our first one and it went really well. After something crazy happened...you just all need to ask me about it when I get home!! I was pretty nervous to speak but it turned out pretty well. I don't why I got nervous because I have done things like this a ton now...but whatever who knows...

In our area things have been going great!!! We are going to have three baptisms this weekend! It's actually kind of funny because this week we found out that the ward mission leaders daughter doesn't have a membership she never had one when she got baptized...so we have to baptize her again!!

But other than that things are great!! I am so excited to see you all this Sunday!!
love you all!

We've Been Working Hard

Well it has been another crazy week!! We have been working hard so that is good. Our area is doing well so that is a relief and we have found a ton of investigators lately!! We have three people that we are working for baptism with this weekend!!!

Well it has been fun this week because we have top new assistants here with us! We are training them and then both leaving to finish out our missions. I am not going to train when I leave but it will be fun.

I don't have a ton of time this week but I love you all!!

Put His Life in God's Hands

Well I can't believe that it has been another week! Time is really flying here...I can't believe that school is almost out again and that Jamison signed to play a college sport...(glad someone told me that....)

Things have been going good here. This last week we had a baptism... that was a huge miracle on Sunday...we went to visit the father whose family we had recently baptized. We had not visited him for like 2 weeks...anyways he just started to tell us that he was ready to change and that he just wanted to put his life in God's hands..then he was like I am getting baptized next Sunday...then we just kind of looked at him and we were like why don't we just do it today?? Anyways he was like fine so we went to the church and he had his interview and he got baptized!! So that was a huge relief for us...

Tomorrow we are going to get 2 new assistants. One of the them is my old companion Elder Gallacher...we are going to train them for 3 weeks then my last 2 changes I will be leaving the office!! So that should be fun.

On Saturday for our p-day we are going to play in a stake soccer tournament so everyone pray that we can win!! Well i love you all. Have a great week!!

Run Down of Last Week

Dear Family,

Well it has been another great week here in Guatemala....here is a run down of last week...i know that mom really loves this

Monday- we had a meeting with the sisters that are leaders in our mission. it was very interesting....we are trying to get them to work on some different things so that the sisters can baptize more... then we went to the office and did some work and then worked in our area..

Tuesday- we went to a zone to watch their zone training- It was alright then we went to our area and just worked....

Then the next 3 days we went to the three different sectors of the mission with our President to give a presentation to all of the leaders...it was pretty good. hopefully it will help a little bit.....we drove one day with our president and sometimes when he drives I fear for my life...but we always end up alive...I just know that when I get home I have to drive a lot more carefully because here there are no rules!!!! We took P-day and we went to a place where they sale the best boots in Guatemala but I did not buy any......

Then we went to church on Sunday and had a wonderful fast Sunday...it is so funny here because there are so many kids that get up and they all say the exact same thing...But other than that we had a good week. Well i love you all have a great week!

Crazy Week in Boca del Monte

Well is has been another crazy week here in Boca del Monte (name of my area). This last week i will give you all a run down of the things that we did...

Monday- Did all of the preparation of the changes for a mission...i had to do all the computer work for my companion and I so i was preparing things on it from 8 in the morning to 6 at night..it was a very long day for me...later i went with 2 of the secretaries to have family home evening  and they made me teach it!

Tuesday- DAY OF CHANGES. we woke up at 3:45 and went to the mtc of guatemala..like 15 minutes from our house and got the new missionaries. Later we spent the whole day doing capactiation with the news and things with missionaries who were leaving...at like 1 in the afternoon. President Markham and his wife and Elder Careers and I were leaving his house when a sister called us saying that her comapion had just passed out in the sreet and was not waking up...anyways we went and got her..and she was unconsious. later she woke up but we still had to take her to the emergency room here in the capital. so that was really interesting. in the end she was just dehydrated!

Wednesdays-we woke up at 4 and took those who had finished to the airport. then we planned all da for a leadership meeting and then we worked in our area.

Thursday- We had a leadership meeting and then went and worked in out area...

Friday- Was P-Day and i had to go with a secretary to the office in the morning to get a few things done...then we all tried to go bowling but it was to expensive...later we had to pick up a car that was getting fixed and it took forever so it was not really P-day.

Saturday and Sunday we just watched conference all day. Well I love you all! Have a good week!
